About Me

In case we have not met, I wanted to provide you with a little information about me.  I have been in education for a number of years as a mentor and coach to students and began teaching in 2004 as a first grade teacher in Tampa, Florida.  My family and I moved here to Georgia in 2006.  Although I was born and raised in Ohio, attended boarding school in Pennsylvania, and went to college in Indiana, I consider Atlanta home.  My educational background includes: gifted specialist in Cobb County, gifted program coordinator at a local charter school, instructional coach consultant for private and public schools in the metro Atlanta area, and educational consultant for television producers and others in the entertainment industry.  I began teaching at King Springs this past spring as a supply teacher in fourth grade and I immediately fell in love with the students, teachers, and parents.
I look forward to partnering with you this year to ensure your child is not only successfully navigating their fifth and final year here at King Springs Elementary, but that they are also prepared for their middle school years and beyond.  I would like to keep the lines of communication open between us at all times because teaching your child is a partnership effort.  If you have a question, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I also want to encourage you to empower your child to come to me when they have a question or concern.  Part of teaching is providing students with the necessary life skills to be successful beyond the classroom.  Speaking up in a respectful way is a life skill that I will be teaching the students along with study skills, note taking, and goal setting. I hope that you can support that at home as well.
