Students in 4th grade will have the
opportunity to improve graded assignments and tests with a score lower than
70%. Here are specific details for you and your child:
* Students with a graded assignment or test with a grade below 70%
will be given one opportunity to improve their grade following additional re-teaching
and review of the skill.
* The original grade and the new grade will be averaged. The
updated grade will be recorded in Gradebook online.
* The opportunity to improve their grade will be provided during
school. Teachers will allow students time to redo assignments and/or tests
during small group instruction, morning work and/or unfinished work time.
* We will have a 1 week window following the graded assignment or
test for students to improve their grade.
* Writing compositions will not be included in this opportunity to
improve grades. Teachers consistently conference with students about their
writing prior to any assignment being turned in for a grade.
* IMPORTANT: Students must be motivated to take advantage of this
opportunity. Our teachers will be happy to give students another chance to
demonstrate their understanding of standards, but our students must express a
desire to improve their grade.
